Chockstone Climbing Guides is comprised of an experienced, professional group of Smith Rock climbing guides that are passionate about rock climbing. They have chosen rock climbing as a profession and have pursued American Mountain Guide Association rock climbing guide and rock climbing instructor training and certification to insure their clients that they are practicing the highest level skills and standards of guiding rock climbing available. Central Oregon is home to Chockstone Climbing Guides and they primarily guide at Smith Rock but every year offer opportunities to guide other equally wonderful climbing areas. Our guides, in addition to being strong rock climbers, are also skilled teachers and coaches and are great instructors for those wanting to learn to lead climb, learn trad climbing skills, and gain confidence with the technical skills to pursue their own climbing in a safe way, climbing skills you can take anywhere. Or for the experienced climber, It can be great to hire a guide to make the most of your day at the crag. Chockstone Climbing guides have been guiding at Smith Rock State Park since 1999 and have been climbing at Smith Rock for even longer.
