The CWI assessment program is designed to assist and support climbing instructors teaching climbing skills and safety management on artificial climbing walls both indoors and out. Presenting and assessing teaching skills and styles, providing wall management and creating a standard that fits your facility and staff. This certification course can be arranged privately at your facility. A minimum of three is needed to run an assessment course.
This course addresses the basic technical skills necessary to manage an instructional program at a climbing facility. The course length is a minimum of 20 hours of instruction, skills demonstration, and evaluation, typically run over 2.5 days. Certification and AMGA membership lasts for three years. After three years current CWI’s can re-take a one-day reassessment to regain the CWI certification.
